Call to Prayer from the Blue Mosque
The call to prayer starts with the line “Allahu Akkbar” or “God is the Greatest.” You can hear neighboring mosques also making their call to prayer in the background. There are calls to prayer 5 times a day to remind Muslims that it is time for prayer. They can go to the mosque and pray or pray where they are. Prayer times are at sunrise, midday, afternoon, sunset, and nighttime. Each call to prayer starts a new prayer time, Muslims don’t have to pray at that exact moment, but during that general time period. Praying 5 times a day is one of the 5 pillars or commandments of Islam. -

Nasreddin Hoja story- Riding the Donkey
Mullah Nasreddin Hoca is a famous folktale character from Turkey who has spread across the middle east and even to India, where this cartoon was made. Sometimes a fool, sometimes a great wit or a wise guy and often a trickster, there are many Hoja stories and jokes. This is one of the most famous stories about how you can never please everyone, so it is better not to care too much for the judgement of others. In some versions, Hoja and his son end up carrying the donkey themselves and then people think that they are really crazy. -
